Dempsey returned with the Andersen Racing Team for an official IMSA test at Sebring, this was Peter’s second visit to the famous Sebring circuit.
Circuit knowledge and familiarity with his Mazda car put him in a very strong position and he made very good use of it.

In the opening session of the day Dempsey and the Andersen Racing Team were 2 seconds a lap quicker than anyone, with some changes to the car and good team strategy Peter did a blistering lap that was .6 of a second under the lap record.

Peter said “ I am really delighted, the team did a fantastic job to give me a great car, it was nice to do a good job for Dan (Dan Andersen team owner) as he has put a lot of faith in me. I hope to go even quicker tomorrow. “

Dempsey has two sessions today 29th January he will use the first session to try for a time and the second to do a race distance. Race distance in the Star Mazda Championship is 40 minutes and in the heat it will be gruelling.

Day Two,

Peter Dempsey was quickest by 1 second on day two of the offical IMSA Star Mazda test at Sebring on Tuesday 29th January 2008.

Dempsey only had two sessions on day two, both in the morning, he had planned to run another set of new tyres and go for even a quicker time but when he discussed it with the Andersen Racing Team they decided to stay on the tyres he ran the day before.

While all the other competitors ran new tyres, Peter still ended up 1 second quicker than anyone else, completing a very successful two-day test.

“ I am over the moon with the test and to be a second quicker on old tyres when everyone else was on new, gives me a big advantage. The team, my engineer and mechanic have been brilliant, I have had the best car on the track for the two days and this has made my job a lot easier. I really have to thank Dan Andersen the team owner, he has a fantastic team which I am very comfortable in. “ Peter said.

Dempsey has a 5-week break then he is due back for more testing before the first race at Sebring on March 14.
