Dempsey Toronto Bound

Peter Dempsey heads to the 11th round of the Star Mazda Series at
Mosport, near Toronto next weekend eager to return to winning ways
after a difficult race in Trois Rivieres last time out.

The Ashbourne racer qualified second at the iconic street circuit last
time out but hit problems on race day when he was forced to start from
pit lane. He was eventually classified 13th and is hoping that he has
put his bad luck behind him heading to Mosport.

Carrying a ten-point lead in the Star Mazda series to the former
Canadian GP venue, Dempsey and his Juncos Motorsport team will be
focused on retaining the pace that has made them the benchmark for
other squads this season.

Dempsey has won four times this year, three of them in succession in a
mid season purple patch after he switched to the Juncos squad. Despite
the setback in Trois Rivieres, Dempsey remains confident heading into
the final three races of the year.

“Our great run came to an end but for reasons that had nothing to do
with our pace,” the Dunlop Young Racing Driver of the Year said. “We
were quick there and if we can retain that lap time then we can keep
the challenge going.

“I like the track and managed to win there last year so I can’t wait
to get back on track. The boys are pumped to make a big push in the
last three events,” added the Motorsport Ireland and Quayside.ie
supported driver.
